Design: Who Are You?

One of the first steps we take when working with new clients who lack an established "image", is to help them define and articulate their identity. In the corporate world this is referred to as "branding". Creating a consistent, recognizable look is a crucial part of the design process. We take the time to understand what makes you unique, what you offer, and to whom.

Since a website becomes your "face" to the world, it's a good idea to take a look in the mirror before you go out in public! Here are a few things to ask yourself:

  • Who are you trying to reach? Your site should have a look that appeals to your target audience.
  • How would you describe your business/organization? Try to distill the essence of who you are down to a short "mission statement".
  • What is the purpose of your website? There are no hard-and-fast rules, but different types of websites tend to look a certain way. You may want to take this into account in the design process.
